Hamilton County Regional
Planning Commission Motion Approving the Community COMPASS
Initiatives and Strategies:
To approve the Community
COMPASS Initiatives and Strategies as recommended
unanimously by the Planning Partnership on 1-22-03,
2-13-03, 2-26-03, 3-25-03, 4-2-03, and 4-29-03; and to
approve the revisions of Community COMPASS Initiatives and
Strategies recommended by various Planning Partnership
representatives on 5-15-03 and subsequently endorsed by
ballot vote on 7-1-03. This motion includes the following
explanation of effect.
Explanation of Effect: The
approval of the Community COMPASS Initiatives and
Strategies by the Hamilton County Regional Planning
Commission (HCRPC) is an endorsement of the Planning
Partnership recommendations, but is not considered as an
adoption of a plan. Therefore, revisions of the
Initiatives and Strategies will not be considered as a
plan amendment and will not require public hearings for
revision and refinement. Instead, HCRPC’s approval
confirms that the selected Initiatives and Strategies are
appropriate for achieving The Vision for Hamilton County’s
Future adopted by HCRPC on February 6, 2003.
HCRPC recognizes that
initiatives must be implemented by a wide variety of
partners (public, private and civic sector organizations)
and that the implementing organization (COMPASS Partner)
has the authority and responsibility to refine and revise
strategies to achieve desired results.
