HUNDREDS OF RESIDENTS RESPOND TO SURVEY ON GROWTH
Survey focuses on development, priorities
CINCINNATI — Over a thousand residents of Hamilton County have responded to a survey on priorities and growth in the county. The Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission, the sponsor of the survey, is delighted with the level of interest in the survey.
“I am very pleased with the current level of response to the survey. We encourage those that have not returned the survey to fill it out and return it so that their input can be included in the results,” said Ron Miller, executive director of the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission. “This survey is just the beginning of an intensive public participation process for a master plan. Public forums and community outreach will be used to gather as much public input as possible. We hope citizens will use this opportunity to help shape the future of our county.”
This survey will be used to build a foundation for Community COMPASS, the Comprehensive Master Plan and Strategies for Hamilton County. The plan – developed in collaboration with residents, business leaders and civic leaders – could help the county compete for more state and federal funds and help unify voices of the county’s 49 jurisdictions.
“We’re excited to be part of this consensus-building initiative,” Miller said, “and we’re confident Community COMPASS will result in a clear direction that all of us can embrace.”
The Regional Planning Commission partnered with Cincinnati-based Burke Marketing Research to administer the survey. Burke used a scientific, random selection process to distribute the survey, which includes questions ranging from the type of community residents prefer to opinions on why people are moving out of the county. Burke will continue to accept completed surveys through Friday November 17th. Results should be available by the end of November.
